A 6"3 rug which has been dumped on a stable floor and, prewash, is covered in mildew, mould and also smells as if it has been a cats latrine for months!! Yuk!!
Below is the same rug - washed and reproofed and ready for winter! [Plus it actually smells nice!!]

SADDLE REFLOCKING GONE BAD [WHATS IN YOUR SADDLE???]
- what a saddle can look like when opened up for reflocking - note the different colour of flock.
The lady who owns this saddle had sent it away some time ago to a not too distant saddle repairer to be
reflocked for her horse. After getting a lovely new horse she asked me to go and do a fitting.
The saddle fitted rider nicely and needed tweaking and reflocking in order to make her horse happy - this is
what I found the previous saddler had done.
The bottom layer is the factory flock, the grey layer is the flock inserted to bulk out the saddle, rather than
remove and replace all the cheap synthetic flock with good quality wool.
The white parts are the 'good flock' and are strategically placed at the flock holes so that the owner would
naturally assume that to be all through her saddle should she check.
I have removed all of the nasty cheap synthetic flock, replaced it properly with Grade A wool, returned to her
home and fitted it back to her horse and they are now a happy combination again.
Above is a showing bridle specifially made for the owners requirement with a leather chin strap instead of chain - English Leather and handstitched.
